Thea MacFawn is a member of the North Colonie Teachers Association and founder of the Capital Region Institute for Human Rights. The millions of jobs lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic has dealt a serious blow to the economy. And that has further worsened New York State’s budget woes, threatening the critical education funding Thea and her colleagues depend on to help their students succeed.
